Maja Hansen

I am a Danish Architect with a Master Degree from the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Art, School of Architecture.

I currently work as an architect for DesignGroup Architects in Copenhagen, DK.

Prior to this, I worked as an Architect for III x Skak A/S in Hillerød, DK, where I am responsible for a facade design and interior design for the new Flintholm Gym- and Swim Centre in Frederiksberg, which will open in Spring 2017. The projects are mostly OPP and OPS projects (“Offentligt-Privat Partnerskab/Samarbejde”) which is a companionship between the Municipality and a privat company. My work for IIIxskak is also covering competitions, mostly sport- and swim centres, plus larger interior re-designs for existing buildings.

I have broaden my horizon in the field of Architecture with an international experience from previous jobs, such as Store Planner at Pandora Nordic; Architect at Liddicoat & Goldhill in London and an exchange study in Melbourne, Australia.

In my previous job at Pandora, I gained knowledge about project management and building process. I was responsible for new concept stores in Scandinavia regarding construction, economics and deadlines.

My curiosity leads me to participate in architectural competitions. Often in teams with friends. Some of the proposals were exhibited at the Danish Architecture Centre (DAC) and by the Copenhagen Climate Resilient Neighborhood project.

The process is important when designing. I have specialized in the architectural process and method during my five years at the Academy, and believe that the analysis prior to the design process is the root from which the architecture grows.
